COACHING duo John McFarlane and Tom Barge have left Blackfield & Langley to join Romsey Town’s scrap for Sydenhams Premier Division survival.

McFarlane is already a well-known face at the Bypass Ground having coached there during Glenn Burnett’s time at the helm.

He and Barge opted to stay at Blackfield following Burnett’s depature as manager in December but the pair have U-turned to help out the beleaguered Bypass boys.

“It’s a massive boost for us. Already there’s a lift in the dressing room,” said Romsey boss Carl Bennett, who will now share management responsibilities with McFarlane.

Blackfield, who have welcomed goalkeeping coach Reggie Palmer back to the club, have approached a potential new coach and hope to speak to him next week.

The Gang Warily outfit, meanwhile, have seen Alex Baldacchino depart for Sholing and received a FOURTH notice of approach for fellow frontman Craig Feeney – this time from Lymington Town.

Blackfield have themselves lodged notice of approach for locally-based midfielder Lewis Ross, who is dual-signed with neighbours Fawley AFC and Southern Premier Division outfit AFC Totton.
