FOLLAND Sports climbed to seventh in the Sydenhams Premier Division with a satisfying 2-0 home win over league leaders Winchester City last night.
Ryan Long instantly punished City's failure to deal with a first-minute throw-in before later crossing for skipper Jamie Barron to crown a third successive victory for the Planemakers with a fine, left-foot finish.
"Winchester were very bright and played a lot of football, but all of a sudden we've become very compact and hard to beat," said Follands boss Danny Bowers.
"Credit to our lads, we're a new, young side and we're getting stronger and stronger."
Winchester, who have lost two on the bounce, remain a point clear of title favourites Sholing having played seven games more.
