SNOOKER: Surrey-based Falcon Pools has splashed out another three-figure sum to renew its sponsorship deal with a “phenomenal” ten-year-old from Hampshire.

The cash will cover a second year’s coaching for the naturally talented Mickey Joyce at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club with World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley.

Joyce, who practises at The Academy near his Basingstoke home, is currently second in the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour rankings with three of the eight legs left.

He won last season’s Bronze Tour championship play-off, his highest competitive break is 54, he competes on the EASB Regional Junior Tour South and he faces a trip to Leeds in April for the last-16 of the English Under-14 Championship.

Dunkley said: “I’ve worked with Mickey for a year now. Some of the things he does on the snooker table are phenomenal.

“He is fearless, which makes him a dangerous opponent, but he has the knowledge and the talent to back that up.”
