Mauricio Pochettino hailed his record breaking Saints as they made it six Premier League away wins in a season for the first time.
A 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace thanks to Jay Rodriguez’s first half goal secured the milestone win.
“I found out that we have taken over the statistics of most games won away from home, six, ever in the Premier League so I am pleased with that statistics as well,” said Pochettino.
“I think we have a good balance, we are doing well, we are building a project and we want to continue in this way.
“We are showing the potential we have for the future at Southampton Football Club and we are very well pleased with the victory.”
He added: “I thought it was a really tough game.
“This was one of the toughest stadiums I have had to come to in the Premier League.
“I thought that we were playing against a team that presses quite high, that demands from you quite a big physical effort and despite that we played our way, the way we know how to.
“We always kept the ball on the pitch despite the ground not being in that great condition.
“I think overall the victory was well deserved by my team.”
