Saints are set to be without Jack Cork and Victor Wanyama for this afternoon’s game against Norwich.
Cork is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks after suffering an ankle injury in last Saturday’s win at Crystal Palace.
Wanyama, pictured left. had been due to replace him today, but he sustained a knock in training on Wednesday.
That makes James Ward-Prowse the most likely candidate to partner Morgan Schneiderlin in the holding midfield role.
Wanyama has only recently returned from two months out of action, following a hairline fracture in his leg.
Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed that the Kenyan’s latest injury is in the same area.
“He had a knock in the same region as the previous injury,” he said.
“He does have some pain right there in the same region. We need to evaluate more than anything his fitness in terms of playing.”
Kelvin Davis also continues to miss out with a hamstring issue.
