SAINTS keeper Artur Boruc is confident that manager Mauricio Pochettino will soon sign a new contract with the club.

Pochettino’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and the absence of a fresh one is beginning to cause some uncertainty.

Rickie Lambert this week encouraged the new Saints board to tie the 42-year-old down to an extended stay, and Boruc said that is a feeling shared among the squad.

“I think so. You can see that we’ve improved,” he said. “We’re playing very good football, you can enjoy seeing us playing.

“I can’t really say anything more. That should easily be in the minds of the board, and I think sooner or later it’s going to happen.”

Boruc added: “We don’t really talk too much about it. We’ll see what’s going to happen in the next weeks. I think it’s going to happen sooner or later.”
