An elderly woman was left needing treatment for smoke inhalation after a fire at her Wickham Bishops home.
The 80-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation and required treatment by an ambulance crew after the fire started at 9am this morning.
The fire started on a cooker.
Two crews, one from Witham and one from Maldon, attended the blaze, which was put out by 9.22am.
Firefighters made the scene safe and called for an ambulance for the elderly woman.
