Kingston Royals youngster Rafe Bletso starred as the club passed the 60-medal mark at the Surrey Swimming Championships.
The 10-year-old claimed two golds (50m butterfly and backstroke), three silvers and one bronze in the sprint distances over the weekend as the Royals took their haul to 63 medals from four weeks of competition – their best effort since 2008.
Yasmine Hamerlaine, 10, added a further two gold medals (50m backstroke and freestyle) to the two she claimed earlier in the championships.
Finn Harman, 15, and Tegan Lessey, 12, were the remaining gold medallists, both getting well-deserved first places in the 50m freestyle.
In addition to their exploits, there were a further eight silver medals and six bronze medals shared among the Kingston squad. The weekend’s action included the last of the 100m and 200m events at Guildford Spectrum on Saturday before the Royals decamped to Crystal Palace for the 50m sprints on Sunday.
The championships conclude on Saturday with the relay events, where the Royals will be hoping to crash through the 70-medal mark.
