Already a big name in Brazilian jiu-jitsu circles, Romsey’s Trevor Birmingham has now set his sights on being crowned the sport’s world champion.

Birmingham has just won the Pan Am IBJUF Jiu-jitsu Championships in California and he is absolutely delighted.

Last year 41-year-old Trevor who runs martial arts classes in Romsey and Southampton was crowned Brazilian Jiu-jitsu European Open Champion and he’s now got a taste for winning.

“I haven't done the Asian open championships yet and I would like to do the world championships too. I am hungry to go out there and get them. However, I need sponsorship to do it,” added Trevor, who has paid for his trips abroad himself.

“The Pan Am cost me about £1,000 and it is going to cost me a few thousand pounds to do the Asian and World Championships. I would be happy to advertise a company's name on my Citroen Berlingo or my fighting suit.”

Anyone able to help Trevor achieve his dream of becoming world champion by sponsoring him is asked to contact him on 07973506476.
