HEADLEY United had a double celebration after reaching the Aldershot Intermediate Cup final.

Having beaten West End Village 3-1 in their semi-final, Headley discovered they had not lost ground on the Hampshire Premier League’s top two – after Locks Heath and Winchester Castle both lost.

Locks Heath took an early lead against Colden Common through Gavin Petrie, but lost 3-2.

Liam Magee equalised on the stroke of half-time and Jordan Parker and Gary Fulker secured the points before Andy Neal netted a late consolation.

They remain four points clear with a game in hand on second-placed Winchester Castle, who crashed to a 5-3 defeat at home to Liphook United.

Winchester also took the lead, in the 11th minute through Matt Boast, who pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time after Liphook responded with three goals in 17 minutes.

Clanfield boosted their hopes of breaking into the top six with a 1-0 win at Overton United, thanks to an 89th-minute Ellliott Sills goal.

Otterbourne leapfrogged fellow mid-tablers Paulsgrove with a 4-1 win. Simon Daunter and Jamie Nash gave the home side a 2-0 lead inside 22 minutes before Martin Moore and Sam Doswell scored late goals after Liam Horsted had pulled one back on the hour.

AFC Stoneham are eight points clear of the bottom four after a goal in each half from Luke Musselwhite, including an 48th-miniute penalty, ensured a 2-1 win at Liss Athletic.

Bottom-of-the-table Bournemouth Sports missed out on a rare point when Hedge End Rangers netted the only goal in the 86th minute through Andy Bauck.

But they are still only two adrift of QK Southampton, who lost 2-0 at home to Baffins Milton Rovers.

Fleetlands failed to take advantage of defeats for the bottom two, losing 2-1 at home to AFC Aldermaston
