MANAGER Carl Heeley felt Worcester City played well enough to have claimed all three points against Brackley Town.

The Blue and Whites had to settle for a point after Ethan Moore’s penalty cancelled out Ryan Rowe’s opener at Aggborough.

But City, the lowest scorers in Skrill North, were unable to add to their tally against a side reduced to 10 men following the red card for Brett Solkhan’s deliberate handball.

Heeley said: “I think on chances and possession we dominated the games for long spells.

“We know goals are hard to come by but we created enough opportunities, certainly in the first-half. Right at the end I can think of several great chances to win the game.

“We were 1-0 down and felt like we’d had our pockets picked but they kept going and got something out of the game again.

“It was a disappointing goal to concede but I can’t be critical of them with the goals against record because over the whole of the season, with one or two exceptions, they’ve been outstanding as a team defensively.”

He continued: “It wasn’t a dead rubber, both sides gave their all and I thought we played well. It’s just that cutting edge we know we’ve had a problem with but we’ll keep going and overall we’ve got to be delighted how the season has finished off.”

Controversy surrounded City’s equaliser with Brackley claiming the ball hit Solkhan’s chest for the penalty and not his hand.

“If he’s handled it, he’s denied a goal-scoring opportunity so it’s a red card,” Heeley said. “But we were too far away, I coulnd’t see whether it was handball or not.

“The referee was in a better position and gave it so it’s penalty. Some decisions go for you and some don’t, we’ve got one so we’ll take it.”
