Mark Bell and Morgan Williams scored doubles as North Leigh won 5-0 at Bishops Cleeve in Calor League Division 1 South & West on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Millers, whose play-off hopes were ended by Clevedon on Saturday, took the lead on 12 minutes.

Jon Else’s cross found Bell who headed past Jamie Moore from close range.

A few minutes Williams headed home No 2 after Aaron Woodley’s chip hit a post.

After Adam McHugh in the Millers goal kept out a header from Cleeve’s Jamie Locke, Bell completed his brace with a superb free-kick.

The Millers kept up the pressure, but it wasn’t until the 88th minute that Williams made it 4-0 with his second goal of the contest.

He controlled a long ball out of defence and lobbed past the keeper.

Else completed the Millers’ nap hand in injury time when the ball looped off his shin over the keeper into the back of the net past a helpless Moore.

On Saturday, North Leigh’s play-off hopes ended after a disappointing home defeat to leave them seven points adrift of the play-offs with two games to go.

A late penalty miss from Stuart Hole capped a miserable afternoon for the Millers.

The hosts were denied by Clevedon keeper James Dunn, the woodwork and poor finishing.

The only goal came via a second-half penalty awarded against Millers keeper Kane Lewis, who brought down Clevedon striker Joe Swift.

The first half was dominatedby the hosts.

Elliott Osborne-Ricketts’s left-foot shot struck the bar, while Conor McDonagh saw his effort smothered by the keeper.

After the break, a cross from Michael Hopkins found Hole in the clear, but he blazed over.

The goal came in the 57th minute. Swift was fouled by Lewis as he broke onto Isaac Reid’s pass before Kye Mountford fired in the resultant spot-kick.

The Millers threw everything into attack.

A stunning 82nd-minute effort from Mark Bell saw Dunn tip his shot around a post.

In the 89th minute, defender Adi Harvey palmed away a corner off the head of Hole.

Hole took the subsequent penalty, but fired it wide.
