SHOLING’S players and staff were given a taste of Wembley today ahead of their historic FA Vase final at the ‘Home of Football’ on May 10.

Dave Diaper and his players were given a tour of the stadium, met their counterparts from fellow finalists West Auckland and even got their hands on the prized silverware.

Captain Byron Mason and long-serving defender Marc Diaper were also in attendance.

Mason can't wait for the big day next month and to line up alongside his brother Barry Mason, who plays in attack for the Boatmen, he said: "It's going to be amazing.

"I've loved every minute of this cup run, we've gone through lots of ups and downs together.

"It will be amazing for my family to see not one but two of us lining up.

"You want to do well when your family are watching you but, when the match gets going, you've got to get into the game and forget who's watching.

"I'm just going to relax and play my game."
