theres been a few people saying that maybe cork BigVic and spider could play together, myself included, today we will see if it will work.
Swansea like to keep the ball, as do we, so having three in the middle to break up the play might be a good move by MP.
hope big sam has a good game up front and gets a goal or two.

hard luck to nige losing out on the playoffs to brighton. hope he can get reading back next season. he might not be our manager anymore but I still have great respect for him and still hope he does well, not against us though.

Greetings everyone. I so wish I could have been at this match but will have to make do with joining the great company of fans around the world looking forward to another great 2013-4 performance from our team.

Glad to see Spiderman playing in an advanced roll (unless MP wants 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, of course). I've a funny feeling we'll see one from him today, plus one for Sam and a late first for Jack ......... maybe!

Me too, bad luck Nigel. However, well done BHA. Would be nice to see them come up. Most of their fans are pretty decent.

I think Reed has got something special. I'd love to see him get 30-40 minutes today. I doubt if he'll be able to break into the first team next year, so could be one who'd benefit from a season-long loan to somewhere like Reading or Forest.

Although we look great with all the passing and possession, we just don't have the cutting edge to make it count...plus we've been lucky not to concede with a couple of their breakaways, Bony came very close but fired over the bar.
Still, hoping that we can make something of the possession in the second half...I think one goal may be the difference today.

Yep! As Norgie says, it sounds all too familiar. Where would we be now if the possession we've enjoyed had been turned into clear-cut chances and the chances we have made had a better conversion rate? Still been a great season, though.

Usual story.
Not sure the midfielders actually know who should be going forward and who should be staying back, which seems to lead to an all or nothing type scenario.
Surprised none of the midfielders are breaking beyond Sam. Maybe he needs to be dropping short, like SRL does, to create the space for runners.

Wrapping him up in cotton wool for the world cup, its a nothing game and there's no point risking him getting inured, same reason SRL didn't start.
So Luke's not going then.......
As much as I think he should go ive got a feeling Roy's going to pick Cole.
We also haven't got a direct replacement for Luke so it would mean a big reshuffle of the team if he came off.
I think you might well be right, bugger me, they just scored when I was away :),
There was no sign of Luke in the World Cup "suiting up" parade but Cole was there.

It was a nothing game and as Saints supporter I just wanted it over without anyone getting hurt, and it appeared most of the players of both teams thought the same.
Lucky goal, but then you make your luck by being there.

I bet, like me, you didn't see what really was coming. That's the bit of luck we've barely had all season and I'll take it.

So, glad for the fans who made an atmosphere despite a game that hardly got going. I wonder if Rickie will be credited with it, though; the only part of him it touched was his arm. Still, when he gets another like that in Brasil, no one will be moaning.

Because he's a waste of space who doesn't try hard enough and doesn't make good decisions on the ball. Absolutely wasted a glorious chance to send Luke screaming down the wing with a one-timer on a counter-attack. Decided instead to **** around and wait. Wonderboy is a major part of the reason they are not scoring in open play.

Rickie made that goal with a great run, and then beat Vorm to the net, making sure he couldn't get in for a last-ditch save. Luck? Lambert forced the mistake and made sure it went in. Off to Brazil for a real player.

That's easily adjusted: scored any with your own boots yet (:-) But seriously: you seem to be in a bit of a rut lately with loads of possession but few actual goals. Discounting Everton who scored for you, and Newcastle who didn't turn up, struggling for one per game recently. What's doing it?

Well obviously if you knew anything about football you might understand that having two international forwards missing and having SRL trying to do it on his own is a little difficult against premier league defences. Take a look at a proper football side on match choice tonight and you might be able to spot that we are playing with a very green 18 year old up front. Oh and watch it all and you will also see that we won away from home. You see if you only score one and the oppo don't you still get 3 points.

13th in Division 2, room for improvement I think, seven goals conceded in 2 games, not good enough.

Nice to see a sense of humour failure going on over on the skate news site.
anyone would think they can't take a joke which amazes me considering what's been happening on the pitch for them this season - you would think they would be used to that kind of thing.

but it's ok - history is on their side.

which reminds me.... the Soviet Union used to trot out that line, how's it going for our erstwhile commmunist comrades?

OI! SKATES!
Are you watching?
Are you watching?
Are you watching from down there?
Are you watching from down there!

anyway, I must try to concentrate on the team 73 places above them who have just had an awesome season with a team no one rated. Bring on Utd and another win (however it happens - I don't care as long as we bag three points). Bring on the silly season story's about how our entire team is leaving. I reckon the board will be fighting like tigers to keep the team together.
Osvaldo and Ramirez didn't work - ship them out and get what we can for them. (Nice to be in a position of such financial stability that we can afford to experiment and try different players)
Work on those amazing youth players, get in a couple of signings and get the depth of the squad sorted out and we'll be in a very very interesting position for next season.

Only one team in Hampshireand they ain't playing in blue!
