DANNY Robinson admitted his final day in charge of Alresford had an emotional start.
“I had a bit of a lump in my throat when I woke up this morning knowing this was our last game,” he said after the 7-2 caning of Petersfield in the Wessex League Cup final.
“I didn’t expect us to score seven, but the most important thing today was that we won.
“For six years this team has been a work in progress and two years ago it all just clicked into place.
“No person deserves any more credit than another, we’re just a hard-working unit.
“We’ve won seven trophies in three years, but I still think our biggest achievement was keeping us in the league for those first four years when we were the team getting beaten 7-2!”
