Saints striker Dani Osvaldo wants to make Juventus move permanent

Daily Echo: DANI OSVALDO DANI OSVALDO

SAINTS loanee Dani Osvaldo wants to make his move to Juventus permanent this summer.

But the Italian international admits he might not get the chance to stay with the Serie A champions.

Osvaldo has failed to score in the league for Juve after joining them on loan in January following his training ground assault on team-mate Jose Fonte.

“At the moment I don't know if I will stay at Juventus, but I hope so,” he told the Italian media.

“I agree that I haven't been at my best during my spell at Juventus. “But I still believe in being part of Italy's World Cup squad. I've been involved a lot in the build-up to Brazil and I want to be there so much.”

Osvaldo, Saints’ record signing at around £15m last summer, remains under contract there until 2017.

Good if we could sell him but another loan seems likely unless we can use him in a make weight transfer for a player we do want.

How much of his original transfer fee has not yet been paid I wonder ?
Is it a big part of the £22m that is reported we have to pay off this season.

good bye. 1 goal for us whilst he was here and i believe he has had 1 goal for them in a cup somewhere. 2 goals for the whole season i think we were done up like a kipper in the first instance. can please not bring in anymore from Italy as it seems we or they can not handle the pace in the PL. Guly, Papa, Gaston and Dani OK i will let Papa off of this one..

but come on Gaston always suffers with cramp and again he is injured, Dani well i think enough has been said about him and then there is Guly.

Guly thanks for the memories but i do think it is time for you to go.

come on saints lets go show the world that WE ARE SOUTHAMPTON AND WE ARE OFF TO BRASIL..

OK, it was only one goal -- but it was superb.
It was shown last night at the Saints awards evening (relayed live via YouTube) as a nomanee for "Goal of the season".
I think this could be a hint that the Club might (just might) be prepared to forgive and forget.

Or could it have been part of a video 'sales package' for interested buyers?

Who can forget that nice ruddy faced chappie who took the opportunity to hijack a 'free' communications network and a full stadium to showcase the talents of his potential new signing?
"Look, excellent World Cup player from Ecuador, doesn't speak English, but his friend does, bargain?"

I will not take this opportunity to slag off G de P though, as I think he's served several managers and differing team formats and styles rather well, whilst earning the respect of his team mates, and a (the) good half of the fan base, who have come to appreciate what he does.
