RESIDENTS are being warned not to turn washing machines on while in bed or out of the house after police attended a house fire involving electrical goods.
A spokesman for Colne and West Craven Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “West Craven police attended a house fire over the weekend whereby a washing machine had set on fire.
“We are happy to report all were okay as the home owner managed to drag the burning machine out into the yard.
“Please be aware of this incident and consider not putting your washing machine on whenever you are in bed or out of the house.”
