GOSPORT Borough have confirmed the signing of Hayes & Yeading defender Ben Gerring.
The Torquay-born 23-year-old joined Hayes from Bideford AFC in January this year and made 17 appearances for the west London side who were relegated from the Conference South on the last day of the season.
A former Plymouth Argyle youth player, Gerring has also played for Weymouth, Kettering Town, Cambridge City and Taunton.
Two of Gosport’s ex-Eastleigh contingent, skipper Jamie Brown and ex-Saint Brett Poate, have penned new deals after a memorable 2013/14 campaign which saw Borough come safely through their maiden Conference South season and reach the FA Trophy final.
But it’s the end of the road for midfielder Sammy Igoe, targetman Tim Sills and ex-AFC Totton goalkeeper Gareth Barfoot, all released, and for another former Stag, defender Ian Richardson, who has retired.
