GREEN-fingered tots at Minety are using their skills to help the village phone box a new coat of red paint by turning it into a pop up shop.

The pre-school, children are growing flowers and vegetables and then installing them in the redundant call box for customers to buy.

Forest leader Stuart Jackson explained: The phone box is looking very tired and the children would like to smarten it up, but they need to purchase paint as close to the existing colour as possible.”

He said the pre-school was not able to spare the £65 needed to recreated the original colour so the children were earning cash for their group with their plant growing service.

“As plants sell, the shop is restocked and they will also grow plants upon request, various customers have requested tomato and lettuce for the summer,” he said.

“If anyone has a contact to be able to obtain an equivalent paint to the Currant Red BS539 that was used originally, the children and preschool would be very grateful. This would be the finishing touch the pop up shop needs and something that the children can be proud of.”

Anyone able to help is asked to contact Stuart on 07434 402376 or the pre-school on 01666 860009.
