AN eye-opening 11 Alresford Town players have followed management duo Tim Cole and Danny Robinson to Winchester City.

Having last week announced the capture of Sydenhams Premier top gun Warren Bentley on contract, City have confirmed that TEN more players have winged their way over from the Magpies’ nest.

Goalkeeper Jason Collins will compete with Ross Casey for the No1 shirt while, up front, Bentley can resume his prolific partnership with Zach Glasspool.

Also new in at City are Joe Wright, Luke Dempsey, Mike McEnery, Dominic Cope, Stuart Green, Chris Manning, Andy Mott and Lee Wood, who all played key roles in helping Alresford to league runners-up spot last season and success in the Sydenhams League/North Hants Senior/Aldershot Senior cups.

City have also confirmed that exciting, young ex-Eastleigh striker Sam Wilson is staying with the club, but another former Spitfire Chris Flood is moving on.

“Chris is in the process of moving home to the Fleet area and is considering his options for next season,” confirmed director of football Dave Malone.

Also confirmed as part of the Winchester squad for 2014/15 are Danny King, Adam Tomasso, Dan Thompson, Callum Casson, Ryan Holloway, Leigh Mills, John Borg, Ben Stanbrook, Liam Green and Chris Mason.
