SALISBURY City’s problems are piling ever higher with Elliott Frear becoming the latest player to head to pastures new.

Having been turfed out of the Conference Premier two weeks ago for failing to pay players’ wages, City have until next Friday (July 4) to settle their football creditors and secure a bond of £50,000 – or face being expelled from the Conference altogether.

Several players have already left the troubled club with ex-Saints striker Jamie White reuniting with former Whites boss Darrell Clarke at Bristol Rovers, defensive duo Luke Ruddick and Callum Hart joining Paul Doswell’s Sutton United and skipper Glenn Wilson becoming Aldershot Town’s first summer signing.

Cameroonian midfielder Clovis Kamdjo last week moved to Forest Green Rovers and has now been joined at The New Lawn by exciting former Exeter City winger Frear.

Frear, 23, made 45 appearances for Salisbury last season, scoring six goals, and his impressive performances earned him international recognition for England C.

A product of the Exeter youth system, he initially joined the Whites on loan during 2012/13 before signing a permanent deal in June last year.

FGR boss Ady Pennock said of Frear: “He’s a young player with ambition, he’s got pace and he can put a quality ball in the box.

“He had a very good season for Salisbury last year, so this is a great addition for us.”
