CHRIS Flood has returned to the Conference South with Basingstoke Town.

The 24-year-old former Eastleigh and Dorchester Town forward dropped down to the Sydenhams Wessex League last term with Winchester City.

But after relocating to the north of the county, he has featured in all three of Basingstoke's pre-season friendlies so far and scored their second goal in a 2-2 draw with Winchester last week.

Flood, a former Winchester youth player who was briefly on the books of Brentford and QPR, commanded a £10,000 fee when moving from Salisbury City to Crawley Town in 2010.

After leaving the Sussex club, he had spells with Dorchester and Eastleigh in the Conference South.
