FA VASE winners Sholing should have a more familiar look about them for tonight’s friendly battle of the Wembley finalists at the Silverlake Arena (7.45pm).

Last week’s 1-1 draw at Horndean was all about casting an eye over trialists and reserve team players looking to break into the side.

But, with the likes of Byron and Barry Mason and Wembley goal-scorer Marvin McLean now back from holiday, the Boatmen will be nearing full strength for the visit of Alex Pike’s beaten FA Trophy finalists Gosport Borough.

Gosport sneaked a 1-0 result at Sholing’s neighbours Folland Sports last Thursday – former AFC Totton and Bashley striker Jack Odam bagging the winner.

Borough also featured a number of trialists that night including ex-Alresford and Romsey Town winger Danilo Cadete and former Saints and Brighton trainee Matt Benham.

Sholing will give a big welcome back to Vase hero Mike Carter, who stepped up to the Conference South with Borough earlier this summer.
