Jose Fonte has been a welcome figure of positivity at Saints recently.

The summer exodus that has seen Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren depart for Liverpool, Calum Chambers move to Arsenal, Luke Shaw switch to Manchester United and manager Mauricio Pochettino leave for Tottenham, has left somewhat of a sour taste in the mouths of Saints fans.

And while speculation rages regarding the future of Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez – despite chairman Ralph Kruger pledging they wouldn’t be going anywhere – Fonte seems to be enjoying life at the club.

A series of social media posts recently paints a picture of happiness as Ronald Koeman prepares his team for the new season.

Fonte has offered respite to supporters who undoubtedly need a break from players taking to the internet to post their discontent at Saints -- like Schneiderlin and Lovren.

His most recent post, below, on Instagram show him about to head the winning goal in the 89th minute of the 2-1 victory over Brighton as Saints were promoted from League One in 2010/11 -- a goal that sent Saints fans in to raptures.

Below the picture he states: "one of the best moments ever." Words that reflect how much Saints mean to the Portuguese defender.

Fonte has also posted a video that films the Saints players showing off some incredible ball control in the pool at the Staplewood Training Ground.

Below is more of Fonte's postive posts.

The centre back posted this picture after the 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth, in which Lloyd Isgrove scored the winner.
