Spurs are not giving up on getting Schniederlin, it's not as if our board have give them any encouragement is it.
Before September an acceptable bid will be made to test the boards resolve.
If track records are anything to go on then my money is on Levy and not Les. Les has lost every single battle so far.
My concern is that our lack of success in securing our key targets this season is going to frustrate Ron so much that these swap style deals suddenly become very appealing as time runs out to plug the obvious gaps in the squad. We seem to be trying to milk the Osvaldo loan for extra bodies and wouldn't amaze me if this happens with Spider. I do think Spurs have some good players we could use, but would still have to be an amazing deal for us, with us getting the pick of the players. If Poch walks away feeling he's only lost dead wood (which is what he's attempting to do) it will be disastrous.

Have to say the next couple of signings (not the Inter loans) will be make or break in terms of my confidence in the board - and if they are within a country mile of Samaras standard I think we'll know the depth of our problems."

TOTTENHAM have reportedly offered Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches to Saints as a makeweight in any deal to sign Morgan Schneiderlin.

Spurs only signed the 24-year-old centre half from Steaua Bucharest last summer for £8.5m, and he went on to play 24 times for the London club in all competitions.

There is also speculation today that Louis Van Gaal will consider selling striker Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican international has continually been linked with Saints all summer, even before Ronald Koeman’s arrival as manager.

The 26-year-old has scored 37 Premier League goals for United in 48 starts plus 53 sub appearances in his four seasons at Old Trafford.
