SAINTS fans will be able to play on the hallowed turf of St Mary's whenever they want - from the comfort of their own couch.

The 32,689 seater stadium is to be included in EA Sports' FIFA 15, as the latest incarnation of the franchise includes all 20 Premier League stadiums.

The game, which will be released later this year is the latest offering in the series, which has been going since FIFA International Soccer was released on the Sega Mega Drive back and Super Nintendo in 1993.

Last year, Southampton defender Maya Yoshida was featured on the cover in Japan, alongside Lionel Messi.

Actually quite excited about this :D will be nice to play in our own stadium and not just a generic one. Think Chapel is probz the quietest stand in the country I've sat in there once and wouldn't bother again was like being at a funeral but maybe that's because we got beat by qpr........

'not just a generic one' - made me laugh a tiny bit. I'd say they'll be taking their template for the Stadium of Light and, err, not doing very much to it.

Sorry mate but I think you are rather deluded. SMS looks a bit tired around the edges and does it still have the half-working screens? If you compare that to say Brighton's ground with the next generation of pitch, comfortable seats, HD jumbotrons and integrated multimedia throughout the entire ground, you can see the difference.

Did you read the article? Every Premier League stadium is included. Southampton haven't got special treatment or anything.

Too small, built in the wrong place, away fans seated in wrong place, atmosphere nowhere near like the old Dell was. By the time Liverpool, Everton, Man City, Tottenham get their grounds built and expanded, St Marys will look even more 'flat pack ' than it already is. I went to Wolverhampton last season to see a game with relatives, and it is beautifull; full of character, beautifull brickwork. Same we could 'nt ave done the same. Sorry just the way I see it.

Like yourself probably - having been on the journey from the home defeat by Swindon - and near the bottom of League One with the points reduction.

IMO - it is a sign of better times. COYR+WS
