Well, this is going to be a real test for Southampton, BL finished 4th in the Bundesliga last season, lets see what RoKo and the new Saints can do against a quality side, best of luck, guys.

Possibly the most important pre-season game for a long time.
Starting with probably our strongest line-up at the moment.

Clearly midfield and keeper options are strong - just defence and strikers needed now - remember we've lost rickie, guly, osvaldo and billy and only one in so far. At least in defence we have bodies.

Nice to see the stripes but what a collection of shirts. Hope the young lads are not upset wearing the old shirt- they should not be as I note one guy in stripes with FLYBE logo! That's old, but I say good for him. That's how to budget and the quality must be excellent to have lasted this long!

Team wise, as this is reported Ron's first team, I was surprised that Gaston has not made the line-up. And Jack, but plenty of time! Get on with it, Super Saints?

No. But Arsene Wenger will be there in disguise with his buddies, and will be trying to tap up Ward-Prowse to add to his list of Pompey acquisitions.

You need to get the lad some more security, unless you lot are resigned to losing him already

except that these companies (inherited from her father) have been liquidated, of course, as my regular readers on here will know.
Oh dear. Is she not really a dab hand at business, or is she just putting all her eggs/profits in one basket?
Obviously you are not a regular on here! As I have repeatedly posted for the past 2 years, Katharina Liebherr has no business acumen or independent achievements of her own. Her only claim to fame is to have inherited her father's wealth, which he generated through his engineering genius in the fields of engine design and fuel injection systems. She promptly set about liquidating her father's companies which traded under the MALI name and owned lucrative intellectual property and patents. Now, she has set to work to extract her profit from Southampton FC.

This is a true story. I only ever went to that dog track once, and we met two girls from Soton, one of which was an escort girl, we found out later who had lots of punters.

Any hope of a new skate rink?

No; Liebherr senior established the original business, the one that now makes cranes and refrigerators etc; his children inherited it but Markus Liebherr (KL's father) sold his share to his brothers and sisters, preferring to follow his own interests and talent in the field of engine design. His inventions in fuel injection are now used in most industrial engines worldwide (search "common rail technology"). That is how he made his fortune, by genius and hard work.

However, his daughter Katharina has preferred to cash in by liquidating her father's companies, a process which has accelerated since her father's estate came out of the restrictive Swiss probate system.

But she is worth some 5 billion right, so the interest on that alone will generate substantial income.

I suppose it all depends on whether she sees SFC as just another business to liquidate, or a plaything

This has nothing to do with you, abuse of our Chairman is not funny, and is a red card offence.

She promptly set about liquidating her father's companies which traded under the MALI name and owned lucrative intellectual property and patents. No They will be giving us 2.5million
Wow £2.5 million. I suppose its quite a windfall for such a small club. That's around a week's turnover for the mighty Saints of course. All things are relative though, its just a reflection of the huge difference in status of the two clubs.
You are right of course. Leagues apart

In the last year, the fans have raised 2.7million to buy the club, with 7 other Pompey fans matching that figure.

In the last 2 months the fans the raised another 300k to buy more academy facilities, again to be matched and more by the richer fans.

That is us getting off our ar5es and we have benefitted to the tune of 2.5million. Can't think of another club in this country that can match any of the above.

We do know that we won't be being sold in the near future.

Yes you do, because every time you're been up for sale......nobody wants you. No team, no money, no training facilities, no hope, no future.......

we aren't for sale, we don't need to be bought, get it? we have bought the ground, bought new training facilities and pitches. we will soon have no debt, and we are very solvent, we have loads of young talent, and will be climbing up the league soon.

It's why they are raising the cash. They may even get enough soon to buy some grass seed. I understand that all these pathetic skunt posters are desperate to try to put us down but why do they think that we would be in any kind of bad shape even if we were sold. The club would still have first class premiership facilities and a world class academy and would be a seriously good purchase for any football loving wealthy owner. A little more so than the ramshackle, sh1thole down the road with a club widely regarded as the laughing stock of football.

Just been reading an Exeter match report, it says Pompey fans booed their side off at half time, this tactic seems to have done the trick, perhaps we should motivate our neggies to do the same? Way to go lads, get booing at Anfield, but only if we are losing of course.
