Sholing welcome Stratford Town to the Silverlake Arena today in the Southern League South & West Division One (3pm) and will hoping to get their first win of the campaign.
Two draws have been the story of the Boatmen’s season so far. A 0-0 with Shortwood United on the opening day was followed by a 1-1 with North Leigh on Wednesday night on Portsmouth Road.
In that match, substitute Dan Mason grabbed a last minute leveller after the Oxfordshire took the lead on 30 minutes through Eliot Osbourne-Ricketts.
Meanwhile in the South & West, AFC Totton welcome Yate Town to the Testwood Stadium for their first home game of the season (3pm).
Steve Riley will be taking charge of the side after a period of time away and won’t have much trouble injecting confidence into the side after the Stags have won both of their games so far.
Craig Feeney – who returned to Totton from Blackfield & Langley in the summer – has netted two in two games as Riley men won 2-0 against Clevedon and 2-1 against Wantage Town.
Liam Gilbert struck a glorious 25-yard free-kick – that cannoned off the underside of the bar – to claim victory against Wantage in the 85th minute.
Rob Flooks scored the other against Clevedon.
