SHOLING co-boss Mick Marsh looks forward to an FA Cup distraction tomorrow.
After watching his side hit the choppy waters of three straight defeats in the Southern One South & West, he hopes tomorrow’s home tie against Bristol Manor Farm will be the best possible tonic.
“The FA Cup’s a blessing in disguise,” he said . “Hopefully we’ll have one or two or our injured players like (striker) Alex Baldacchino coming back.”
Amid the highs of last season’s FA Vase/Sydenhams Premier double, Sholing rarely experienced defeat – let alone three in a row.
But Marsh admitted: “During our Vase run we had a bucket-load of luck and now it’s our turn for the luck to go against us.
“We have two choices. We can feel hard done by or we can get out on the training ground and make things happen again.
“It’s been a tough start and people will be looking at us after losing three on the bounce. But we’ve got to try and weather the storm. I’m sure we won’t be the only club to go through a difficult time.”
Leaders of the Toolstation Western Premier Division, Manor Farm nicked a 3-2 win at Petersfield Town in the last round thanks to a superb Ryan Radford solo effort in stoppage time.
A September 13 home tie against Southern Premier outfit Chippenham Town awaits tomorrow’s victors.
