A busy week of international duty for a host of Saints players begins tonight.

While Fraser Forster is in the England squad for the friendly against Norway, there are plenty of others preparing for action too.

This evening should see striker Shane Long feature for Republic of Ireland in their home friendly against Oman.

The match represents a final warm-up for Sunday’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier, away to Georgia.

Saints keeper Cody Cropper, 21, could make his senior debut for the United States tonight, having been called up for the friendly away to Czech Republic, while young winger Josh Sims is with the England Under-18 team for today’s friendly at home to Netherlands.

New signings Toby Alderweireld and Sadio Mane both have games coming up, with Alderweireld in the Belgium squad for tomorrow’s home friendly against Australia and Mane selected to represent Senegal in a pair of African Cup of Nations qualifiers, at home to Egypt on Friday and then away to Botswana next Wednesday.

Morgan Schneiderlin is in the France squad for a pair of friendly games – at home to Spain tomorrow and then away to Serbia on Sunday.

The midfielder’s Saints teammate, Dusan Tadic, could come up against him in the latter of those matches.

Maya Yoshida will be in action for Japan this Friday, at home to Uruguay, before his country plays host to Venezuela next Tuesday in a pair of non-competitive fixtures.

Northern Ireland skipper Steven Davis begins his Euro 2016 qualification campaign on Sunday, with a trip to Hungary, while Artur Boruc is in the Poland squad as their bid to reach the next major championship starts with a visit to Gibraltar on the same day.

James Ward-Prowse is currently preparing for a pair of Euro 2015 qualifiers with the England Under-21 squad, starting with Friday’s trip to Lithuania, which is followed by Tuesday’s visit to Moldova.

Winger Lloyd Isgrove is also on under-21 duty, with Wales, as they travel to Finland on Friday, and then Lithuania on Tuesday, for qualifying games.

Harrison Reed and Matt Targett are with the England Under-20s for Friday’s home friendly against Romania.
