Chris Hobbs and Sam Couzens ended with honours even as their south coast grudge match was scored a draw.
The former Army man from Southampton and the Titchfield-based brawler faced off in Portsmouth, but after six rounds there was nothing to choose between them.
It was a see-saw fight with a lot of close rounds that were hard to score, but in the end Hobbs was still relatively satisfied, despite thinking he should have got the result.
“I felt that I won,” said Hobbs.
“The fight was good experience and I felt I took a lot from it – Sam has a lot more experience than me and has been in with some top class opponents and I showed I belong at that level.
“The ref said Sam won the first two rounds and I won the last two, but whatever the result the crowd really enjoyed it.
“There is a good chance me and Sam will do the fight again and I’d be confident of getting the win next time.
“For me I will be back into training this week ready for my next fight on December 5. This fight is the point where I feel I become more professional with my diet and lifestyle and we tweaked few things and I can feel it working. This is still a learning game and I’m edging closer to titles.”
