EASTLEIGH manager Richard Hill reserved special praise for the club’s fans that made the long journey to Wrexham on Saturday for the 3-0 defeat.

The 56 Spitfires’ supporters that made the 400-mile round trip to north Wales watched as their side were resoundingly beaten by The Dragons at the Racecourse Ground.

Those loyal travelling fans will be joined by more than 2,000 Eastleigh fans tomorrow night when Bristol Rovers come to the Silverlake Stadium in the Vanarama Conference – what is set to be a record crowd on Stoneham Lane.

But Hill wanted to give a big mention to those who crossed the border into Wales to watch the loss.

“It was nice for the fans to be so vocal,”

said Hill. “To come all this way and spend all that money I think is incredible.

“Big credit to the fans that came all the way up here to Wrexham, they got behind the lads when it would have been easy to have bailed out on them.

“They were great.

“It’s been a bit of a day out for us and we haven’t repaid that to the fans.

“I just want to give credit to those fans.

Right from the start to the finish they got behind the lads.”
