Former Saints and Liverpool legend Jimmy Case will be signing copies of his autobiography, Hard Case, at Waterstones in WestQuay this Saturday at 12pm.

Case has long been asked to put his life into print and, at 60, has finally decided to take the plunge.

The autobiography is a tale of how he grew up on Merseyside, got signed by Liverpool at 18 when he thought his chances were gone, and went on to become one of the most decorated English players of all time, winning four First Division titles, three European Cups, a UEFA Cup and a League Cup along with many other honours.

After his time at Liverpool, Case became Lawrie McMenemy’s last signing for Saints, paying Brighton £30,000 for his services.

Case went on to make 269 appearances for the club and became a legend at Saints as well as Liverpool and settled in the area.

His book features a lot about his time at Saints and is packed full of anecdotes.

Case has also given an interview to appear in Saturday’s Daily Echo in which he talks candidly about the three Saints players to have moved to Liverpool this season and why he thinks Ronald Koeman’s men could break the top six this season.

On top of that there will be extracts from Case’s book and a big interview with the former midfield enforcer in this weekend’s Pink, all including some fantastic behind the scenes Saints tales.
