Four sides are ready to pounce for the Snows Group Hampshire 1 leadership tomorrow as top side Bognor take their turn to sit out a fixture.

The four clubs leading the chase all face each other – with second-placed US Portsmouth at home to Millbrook the pick of the games.

Both teams have four bonus-point victories to their name and third-placed Brook know they will be in for their toughest test yet.

They are without vice captain Luke Wilson after he fractured his thumb in last week’s outing against Fordingbridge.

But front row Jason Berry, second row Ryan Jones and back Chris Fox are likely to return to the side after being unavailable.

Captain Mike Randell said: “With Bognor not playing we have a big chance to get ourselves where we want to be and where we have been working hard towards.”

Fareham Heathens are unbeaten since being promoted. They sit in fourth spot and travel to Fordingbridge who have been knocked off the top after defeats by US Portsmouth and Brook over the last fortnight.

Southampton can ill-afford to lose to Chineham in their Hampshire 2 game at Test Park.

Saints, relegated from Hampshire 1, will lose vital ground on the leading pack if they come unstuck for the second time this season.

They will be keen to make up the five points between themselves and their third-placed opponents.

Saints’ Kevin Bouault said: “Even if we beat them and get a bonus point, which is a tall order, they will still sit above us.

“We’re fed up with the way the game went at Ventnor but, to be fair, they are a good side and played well.

“We are getting good numbers at training and are confident we have can put a strong team out.”
