TOTTON’s Matt Macdonald (Hargroves Cycles) took the senior win in the tenth round of the Wessex Cyclo-Cross League.
The 35-year-old overcame wet and muddy conditions on the disused golf course at Fleming Park, Eastleigh to win his second race of the series, with championship leader Jamie Norfolk finishing third.
Macdonald’s win completed a good weekend for Hargroves Cycles as Jody Crawforth went top of the National Trophy standings by finishing second in the third round at Durham University, taking advantage of teammate and previous leader Ian Field’s decision not to ride.
Don’t miss this weekend’s Sports Pink for a double-page picture special on the Fleming Park race.
