Blackfield & Langley start their Wembley pursuit tomorrow when they face Sydenhams Premier Division rivals Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the FA Vase second round proper.

Manager John Robson made it clear in the summer that his ambition was to take the Watersiders to the national stadium for a dream cup final.

And that ambition hasn’t changed.

“For me it’s all about winning the league and the Vase,” said Robson. “We just want a good cup run.

“I know they’re going to be a tough game. They’re a good side, but we’re full of confidence.

“There’s been lots of changes here recently.”

Indeed times have changed at Gang Warily in recent times. This week alone keeper Scott O’Rourke, who had been playing at Hampshire Premier League Bush Hill and Weymouth forward Mark Ford arrived on Waterside, with both of them due to play against Bemerton.

New signing from Winchester Liam Green is cup tied, after he came on in City’s defeat to Horndean. Josh Hanratty is suspended and so is Franklyn Clarke.

Meanwhile fellow Wessex club’s Verwood take on Plymouth Parkway in their Vase tie, while Newport IOW host Loxwood, Alresford Town are in action against Thame United at Arlesbury Park and Horndean are at home to Ascot United.

United Services Portsmouth are also in Vase action, taking on AFC Portchester.

Although many teams are in cup action there is plenty of Wessex Premier football on Saturday.

Winchester City take on Fawley AFC at the Denplan City Ground.

Brockenhurst welcome Petersfield Town, with Pat McManus expecting his side to build-on their victory at leaders Whitchurch last weekend.

The Jam Boys meanwhile travel to Lymington Town in the hope of maintaining their lofty position.

Moneyfields, who are hot on the heels of Carl Bennett’s table toppers, take on Hamworthy United and bottom side Totton & Eling host Fareham Town.

In the other match in the Wessex Premier, struggling Christchurch travel to Andover Town.
