GOSPORT Borough have booked their ticket to the Hampshire FA Senior Cup final at Fratton Park next month.

Alex Pike’s men won 3-1 at Conference South rivals Farnborough tonight. They now await the winners of next Wednesday’s (March 11) second semi-final between Sholing and AFC Bournemouth’s development squad at Portsmouth Road.

The tie was finely balanced 1-1 at half-time with Adam Wilde’s opener for Gosport cancelled by a Duncan Culley penalty awarded for handball by ex-Saint Andy Robinson.

Wilde restored the visitors’ lead with a curling, 20-yard free-kick and defender Sam Pearce finished the job for Borough with a trademark header.

Gosport, meanwhile, have dropped a place to fifth in the Conference South.

Basingstoke beat Bath City 3-2 last night, through Rob Dickie, Liam Enver-Marum and Lloyd Macklin, to climb from sixth to third.

Just two Sydenhams Wessex fixtures survived the recent rain.

Bottom club Totton & Eling felt the backlash as AFC Portchester got back to winning ways following Saturday’s defeat at Lymington Town.

Joe Noakes’ second-half hat-trick was the highlight for Graham Rix’s Royals as they defeated T&E 5-1 at Wicor Rec. Joe Bye and Jamie Musselwhite were also on target as Portchester edged up to fourth.

Folland Sports bounced back from last week’s 8-0 pasting by Portchester with a 3-1 win at Alresford.

The Planemakers trailed to a Tom Donaldson goal, but hit back through Richard Gregory (2) and Ashley Jarvis.
