Team Solent Suns are celebrating after winning the National Women’s Basketball Division 2 title.
They defeated Cardiff Archers 83-40 at St Mary’s Leisure Centre to book themselves a home tie with London Westside in the play-offs at the same venue this coming Saturday (6pm).
If they win, Suns will again have home advantage in the semi finals. The final is in Sheffield on April 19.
Four Solent players achieved double figure scores against lowly Cardiff – Axentieva leading the way with 16 points and Stroud, Jenkins and Kurkowski not far behind.
The Suns’ men’s side finished fourth in National Division 3 and have also qualified for the play-offs, starting at Liverpool this weekend.
