SANTA MONICA: A man who admitted that he stole nude photographs of model Elle Macpherson from her home and threatened to post them on the Internet was jailed yesterday for six years and eight months.
Michael Mischler, who claimed he had been jilted by Macpherson, pleaded guilty earlier this month to one count of attempted extortion and one count of first-degree burglary. Eight other charges were dismissed in a plea agreement.
The Australian model said she has never met Mischler or his alleged accomplice William Holt, who pleaded guilty to attempted extortion earlier and was immediately sentenced in Santa Monica Superior Court to a year in jail.
Mischler's lawyer also said Mischler believed he was the father of Macpherson's unborn child.
An outraged Macpherson responded that the father of her child was Arpade Busson, a London-based French financier.
