BELLSHILL ATHLETIC have sensationally sacked boss Paul McGrillen in the wake of his team's 5-1 thrashing at home to Cumnock.
McGrillen's men are second bottom in the Super Premier standings but the former Senior star was not thought to be under any immediate pressure.
However, club officials have decided to wield the axe.
In Scottish Junior Cup action, Petershill were the only West Region participants to taste defeat on an otherwise great weekend for clubs from these parts as Neilston, Kilwinning Rangers and Yoker all triumphed 2-0 away from home against East Region opposition.
Graham Dale and Chris Cameron were on the mark as the Brig O'Lea outfit won for the fifth time on the road and they will now meet Kilwinning, for whom Derek McCulloch and Paul Mullen (pen) counters earned a hard fought victory over Camelon.
