SPEEDING jet skiers on Loch Lomond could face rapid legal action in future.

National Park "green police" are also to launch a major crackdown on vandalism and littering, if the blueprint for the future of Scotland's first national park is approved by ministers as expected today.

The five-year plan for Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is expected to allow jet-skis and power boats to continue to use the vast majority of Loch Lomond.

But rangers working for the National Park Authority will get powers to report anyone breaking regulations directly to the Procurator Fiscal who can decide to take them to court.

The rangers can also report offenders for littering and vandalism in a bid to curb antisocial behaviour on the loch and encourage more families and tourists to visit.
