MAURICIO Pochettino does not know what reception awaits him at St Mary’s from his former fans this weekend.

The Argentine is uncertain what reception to expect as he makes his first return to Saints since quitting the club last May.

“I don't expect nothing special," he said.

“I love the people at the club, the players, because in one-and-a-half years I enjoyed a lot because it was one of the best periods of my life."

“We finished last season eighth in the table.

“We played very well and it was the end project of five years with Nicola Cortese and Markus Liebherr.

“We stabilised the club in the Premier League and top 10.

“I'm very happy it was good for Southampton because I love the people of Southampton, the players.

“Koeman has continued to develop the project, or a new project, and it's a fantastic job and he deserves the praise.”
