EXPERT intervention from matchmaking mascot Sammy Saint has seen Southampton FC nominated for a top award.
The club has been shortlisted for the Content of the Year in the inaugral Facebook Football Awards for hooking up a love struck fan with a pretty brunette - a story that went viral.
Now Saints needs some love from its supporters because their vote is crucial in beating 12 Premier League sides for the accolade.
As previously reported in the Daily Echo, a Saints fan recieved romantic advice from an unusual source when he asked the club's Twitter account to help him track down a woman who flashed him the eyes.
"Timothy"
The saga sprang from an unusual conversation on Twitter which began following the side's 3-0 win over Everton.
A supporter, known only as Timothy, tweeted the official Saints account asking if they would tell him the name of a girl who sat near him and gave him “the eyes”.
@SouthamptonFC Unreal looking girl that sits 4 seats next to me that keeps giving me eyes. Can you tell me who sits in block 24 seat 626?

At first the club declined to help and cited data protection laws.
@_timcorn Foiled by those data protection laws. We can only hope she comes forward. That would be a beautiful story. #saintsfc

Another fan chipped in and suggested that Timothy simply talk to the girl in question and the club's official Twitter account agreed, telling him to “man up” ask her out, and offer her a hot cup of Bovril.
@_timcorn You can 't simply force someone into a zorb race. Man up and ask if she fancies a drink – no lady can resist a hot Bovril.

But Timothy's romantic plans were foiled when tragedy struck and his car broke down on the way to Saint's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
@SouthamptonFC MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON THE WAY, DIDNT MAKE THE GAME 😭 #heartbroken Maybe a New Year's Day halftime shout out?😏

It was then Saints hatched a heart warming plan by mobilising mascot turned cupid Sammy Saint.
He sprung into action, leaving a rose and a Bovril voucher on Tim's seat, and wishing him good luck ahead of the club's New Year clash with Arsenal.
After the game, which saw Saints triumph 2-0, Timothy tweeted: “Thank you to Southampton FC. She didn't like the Bovril but loved the flowers!”
Southampton FC subequently released this video, showing how the story has unfolded - and how sammy Saint is playing the role of Cupid.
