RICHARD Hill’s player/assistant manager Craig McAllister and midfielder Brian Howard are on their way out of Eastleigh.

Targetman McAllister, 34, is one of seven players being released from the Silverlake Stadium as Hill plots some squad rebuilding after an impressive debut season in the Vanarama Conference.

Former Swindon, Barnsley and Reading midfielder Howard does not feature on the released list but informed Hill several weeks back that he would not be extending his stay at the club as he was “going to pursue other avenues.”

Coach Chris Todd has been offered the role of assistant manager/first-team coach and is chewing it over before deciding where his future lies.

Defenders Dean Beckwith and Dan Spence have also been released, along with midfielder Craig Stanley who played no part in last Sunday’s play-off semi-final second leg defeat at Grimsby Town after mouthing off at Hill in full view of the BT Sport cameras as he was substituted in the first leg.

Veteran Jamaican World Cup star Deon Burton, 38, is another on the released list as is 23-year-old midfielder Harry Pell, signed from AFC Wimbledon in January.

Another January arrival, Braintree loan winger Dan Walker, is not staying either.

Five players - goalkeeper Ross Flitney, frontmen James Constable and Jack Midson and defenders Paul Reid and Jamie Turley - are already under contract for 2015/16.

New contracts have been offered to Jai Reason, Ben Strevens, Yemi Odubade, Lewis Noice, Will Evans and Michael Green – plus loanee defender Joe Partington who was released this week by his parent club AFC Bournemouth.

After making the final decisions on his squad, Hill said: “I’d like to thank all the players who are leaving for their contributions. I wish them all the best for the future.”
