FORMER Hamworthy United manager Simon Browne is back in football as Dorchester Town’s new reserve team boss.
Browne, who had two spells with the Magpies during his playing days, will be assisted by Neil Mackie.
Mackie jointly ran the Magpies’ second string last season alongside Jay Keating, who has taken over the managerial reins at Sydenhams Premier outfit Folland Sports.
Browne, who enjoyed a successful spell with Salisbury City during his playing days, has spent 18 months out of the game since he and Wessex League club Hamworthy parted company.
“A couple of jobs came up after I finished at Hamworthy, but they weren’t really what I was looking for,” he said.
“I threw my hat into the ring for a few others, but nothing happened with those.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to get back into the game if you leave it too long, so I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity.”
