Saints will face Vitesse in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
They will play the first leg of the tie at St Mary's on July 30 before the return trip to Holland on August 6.
Vitesse Arnhem were Ronald Koeman's first club as a manager.
It is the toughest draw Saints could possibly have got at this stage of the competition, with Vitesse the highest ranked unseeded team in the draw.
Vitesse finished fifth in Holland’s top flight last season. They lost at this stage of the competition in 2012/13 and 2014/15.
