Saints have drawn Danish side Midtjylland in the play-off round of the Europa League.

They will play at St Mary's on August 20 before the return leg on August 27.

Their squad features a former Saint in Tim Sparv, who was a member of the team that reached the FA Youth Cup final.

Midtjylland are the Danish champions, and currently top of the league after three wins from three games this season. They are owned by Brentford chairman Matthew Benham and play at the 11,800 seater MCH Arena. Their star striker, Martin Pusic, was the top scorer in Danish football last season.

Saints reached the play-off round by beating Vitesse over two legs, winning 5-0 on aggregate, while Midtjylland have come into the Europa League after losing to Apoel in the Champions League third qualying round.

The winner of the tie will make it through to the group stages of the Europa League.
