FORMER Sholing striker Lee Wort is a fitness doubt for Gosport Borough’s FA Cup third qualifying round replay against Whitehawk at Privett Park on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Wort hobbled off with a leg injury late in the first half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw in East Brighton and it’s touch and go whether he will be fit for the replay, writes Mike Vimpany.

Borough were on course for a 2-1 win against their National League South rivals when Danny Mills grabbed a dramatic equaliser two minutes into stoppage time.

He had also given Whitehawk the lead much earlier, beating Nathan Ashmore with a header after only two minutes.

Gosport chased the game for over an hour – but then scored twice in quick succession.

The equaliser was third time lucky for substitute George Barker, who having twice been denied by Hawks’ goalkeeper Craig Ross, got the better of a posse of defenders to make it 1-1.

Barker then turned provider, sliding a pass into the path of Justin Bennett to give Gosport the lead.

But Mills ended Borough’s celebrations with a headed stoppage-time equaliser.
