MILLBROOK RFC returned from the Isle of Wight 61-15 winners in a Snows Group Hampshire 1 clash.

Brothers Rich and Mark Colmer scored three tries each and there were singles from skipper Mike Randell and Paul ‘Junior’ Korobiau.

Richard Colmer also nailed six conversions and three penalties.

Randell said: “To go over to the Island and achieve a scoreline like that comes from a strong performance.

“We absorbed everything they threw at us and took our chances, including putting them on the back foot for the majority of the second half.”

FAWLEY celebrated the official opening of their new pitches at Newlands Park – but failed to top the day off with a first team victory.

Instead visitors Romsey RFC kept their 100 per cent Snows Group Hampshire 2 record to win 19-8 and stay in second place.

Romsey went into a 5-0 lead as the pack powered their way over the line from a scrum – Macca Campbell getting the ball to ground.

Intelligent Fawley responded with some intelligent play from Manasa Tawake, feeding the ball out to the wing with Ratu Rokobiau finishing off in style in the corner to level the scores.

And it stayed at 5-5 well into the second half as both sides produced some high quality rugby in an allout battle to get the upper hand.

Tawake put the home side 8-5 up Brook sit second with a game in hand.

Fordingbridge continue to control the table – again dominating an Island side, Sandown & Shanklin, with a 35-10 scoreline to record their fourth bonus point win on the bounce.

Bridge captain Steve Brown ran in a try from his opponents’ 22 after three minutes.

Mat Norton converted that and then struck with three penalties for a 16-0 at half-time lead.

Norton then added two points to a try from Mat Maynard shortly after the break before Sandown hit back with a try.

Norton then tied up the match when he touched down under the posts before the visitors struck with five points from a quick tap penalty on the whistle.

Fordingbridge awarded man of the match jointly to Jake Kostelyk and John Dossitt and there was a welcome return for Dee Stone in his first game back from injury.

Ellingham & Ringwood got their first win of the season with an 18-6 victory at Locks Heath Pumas.

Full back Josh Butcher scored a try and kicked three penalties and a conversion.

Pumas were always in the match which was finally put to bed with an intercepted try from Es’ Charlie Cockram.
