SAINTS will be issued new security guidance by the Premier League this week following the terrorist attacks in Paris which saw a match at France's national stadium targeted.

League officials have been speaking to police, the Government and security advisers and will provide a full briefing to all 20 Premier League clubs on Thursday, and also issue a public statement.

A Premier League statement said: "We are actively engaged with our security advisers and the appropriate authorities, including the Home Office and senior representatives from the police, to assess current security guidance to Premier League clubs.

"There is a club meeting later this week where a full security briefing will be given. Following that, further guidance will be issued to the clubs as well as a public statement so fans are fully aware of what to expect when arriving at stadiums."

The attacks on Friday saw three bombs explode in the vicinity of the Stade de France, where France were playing Germany in a friendly.

According to reports, one of the explosions took place at a stadium gate after a suicide bomber tried to gain access and detonated his bomb vest after it was discovered during a search by security staff.
